Elimination Communication On The Wildwood Trail

You guys, guess what?  I ran into a fellow elimination communication (EC) mom "in the wild" for the first time, at Hike It Baby!  This really made my day.

Of course, my baby didn't go in the woods.  She's used to having a little plastic potty, and I was too shy to bring it along on the hike.  I was kind of worried about what people might say.  But there was this other mom ECing her baby.  I followed her lead after she'd explained it to the other moms.  Well, offered anyway.  I did have the potty in the car and offered when we got back to the parking lot.  Of course she had a wet diaper by then, but she also went pee pee on the potty away from home for the very first time.

I'm proud of her, and a little ashamed of myself for leaving her potty in the car just because I didn't want to worry about being judged by the other moms.  Who totally took it in stride anyway.  I don't know why I'm surprised.  Maybe I forgot I was in Portland.

I hope to see all these moms again on future hikes.
